FAQ

This FAQ page contains answers for many of the frequently asked questions about Filecamp and how it works. If you have any questions that are not answered on our FAQ please contact us. You may also consult our Support pages.

Q: Will my clients be able to see folders that I’ve made for other clients?

No. Your clients will only see folders that you have explicitly given them access to.

Q: How is Filecamp different than FTP?

Filecamp uses a completely different method of transferring files than FTP. Unlike FTP, Filecamp can be accessed using any web browser that can access the internet and does not require the opening of additional ports or the installation of special software to use it. Visit our FTP replacement page for more information.

Additionally, Filecamp offers many value added features not available with FTP such as company branding, previews of files, searching for files and folders, e-mail notifications and easy user management.

Q: How is Filecamp different than some of the (almost) free file transfer services?

There are many services that offers to transfer a file from A to B. But most of these services are often slow and not suited for professional use. We think that when sharing your professional files, your brand should be the focus. Upload your company logo and favicon and choose colors to create a truly branded experience. You can customize the look of your Filecamp account across your entire account.

Furthermore, Filecamp is a complete Digital Asset Management solution and Image Library that offers many features that most businesses will find great value in.

Q: Is there a file size limit on uploading?

Individual files up to 2GB in size may be uploaded to Filecamp. If you need to transfer larger files (+2 GB) or entire folder structures you can upload files up to 20 GB in size with Filecamp’s built-in FTP upload feature.

Q: How does Filecamp send large files through e-mail?

Instead of attaching the file to your e-mail, you upload it to your Filecamp account. Filecamp will then provide you with a hyperlink that you can send to recipients, using your own e-mail software. Recipients will be directed to a branded Download page by clicking the hyper-link.

Q: How do I get an “Upload Files” button on my website?

Itīs very easy. Just copy the HTML code from the Upload Widget onto the header on your website.

Q: Is it possible to receive files without needing to create a User, then setup User access?

Yes, with Filecamp you can specify which folders should be open for “Public upload”. Filecamp will then provide you with a hyperlink that you can send to recipients, using your own e-mail software. Recipients will be directed to a branded “Public upload” page by clicking the hyperlink.

Q: Is Filecamp secure?

Yes. All passwords are hashed so that not even Filecamp support staff is able to access them. All files on Filecamp are backed up daily and hosted with best-of-breed servers and facilities.

Q: How Much is Filecamp?

Filecamp offers competitive pricing plans to fit every company size and budget. Our plans start at only $26 per month. In all plans you will have free Bandwidth and Unlimited Users. Filecamp has three standard plans: Basic, Advanced and Professional. The plans differ in the amount of storage that is included in the plan. Q: How does the 14-day free trial work?

After 14 days, if you like Filecamp and want to keep using it, we’ll require a credit card to continue. If you donīt like Filecamp you won’t be charged a thing. With payment, all of your data will still be there and anyone you’ve invited during the trial will still have access.

Q: Can I use our own domain name?

Yes, you can use your existing domain name ex., files.yourdomain.com with our service (just add a CNAME record).
