Canto pricing in 2026: what it costs and what drives the price

Canto does not publish its prices. Each purchase is quoted individually, based mainly on how many power users you need, how much storage you need and which package you pick.¹ The only public price from Canto itself is its AWS Marketplace listing: $25,000 for a 12-month contract with 2 TB of storage and 5 power users. More storage or users are priced by quote.² Canto's own blog says consumer-type users, the people who browse and download, are included at no extra cost, within a seat pool set by the plan.³

Canto's four packages

Canto's pricing page shows four packages, each with two names. None of them has a price. Canto calls the packages illustrative and says every purchase can be customised.¹

What drives the price of Canto

Power users. Canto charges for power users: named accounts that manage assets, run workflows and organise the library. Its marketplace listing includes five.² Canto's blog says consumer-type users, the people who browse and download, are included at no extra cost, within a seat pool set by the plan.³ That is one customer's report, not a Canto list price.

Storage. Canto names storage as the second major factor in its pricing.³ The marketplace listing includes 2 TB. Anything above that is quoted.²

Package. The higher packages add features such as brand templates, portals, product catalogs and enterprise integrations.¹

Onboarding. Canto's blog confirms that it charges onboarding fees, but gives no amount.³ Its terms also refer to implementation services set out on each order form.⁴ Ask for this line in writing before you sign.

Contract and renewal. The marketplace offer is a 12-month contract.² Canto's terms (August 2024) say fees are generally not refundable and can be adjusted at the start of each renewal term.⁴ If you buy, ask for a cap on renewal increases.

Trial. Canto offers a 7-day free trial.⁵

Worked example: 5 admins, 50 viewers, 1 TB

Picture a marketing team with five people who upload and manage files, 50 colleagues and partners who only find and download them, and about 1 TB of assets.

Filecamp, from its public price list⁶

• Users: unlimited on every plan, so all 55 people are included.
• Plan: Professional, $89 per month, 100 GB included.
• Extra storage: 1 TB add-on, $300 per month.
• Monthly total: $89 + $300 = $389 per month, for 1.1 TB.
• Yearly total: 12 x $389 = $4,668 per year, paid month to month, with no startup costs.

If you don't need Professional features like a custom domain, white label or commenting, the Basic plan ($29 per month, 20 GB) plus the same 1 TB add-on comes to $329 per month, or $3,948 per year.

• Users: the five admins take the five included power users. The 50 viewers only view and download through portals or links, so they don't count.
• Storage: 1 TB fits inside the 2 TB included.
• Price: $25,000 for a 12-month contract, about $2,083 per month.
• Not included in the figure: any onboarding fee, or changes at renewal.

This is Canto's own listed starting price, not a quote. Canto may price a direct deal differently, and the listing has no smaller package for teams that need less than 2 TB. The products also differ: Canto's higher packages include things like brand templates and product catalogs. Work out which features you need first, then compare quotes.

Canto pricing FAQ

Does Canto have a free plan or free trial?
