AEM Assets pricing 2026
Adobe Experience Manager Assets pricing in 2026: how much AEM Assets costs
Adobe does not publish prices for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets. Its pricing page only has a "Get pricing" button.1 The closest public figures are on the US government's GSA Advantage price list: $122,350.13 per year for the AEM Assets Prime base package and $271,889.17 per year for Ultimate.2 These are prices for US government buyers under a reseller contract, so a commercial quote from Adobe will differ.
This page covers AEM Assets, Adobe's digital asset management (DAM) product. AEM Sites and AEM Forms are licensed separately.3
The two AEM Assets editions: Prime and Ultimate
Since 1 December 2024, new customers can only buy AEM Assets Prime or AEM Assets Ultimate. The older AEM Assets Enterprise and Assets Essentials packages are for renewals by existing customers only.3 Adobe aims Prime at organisations "beginning their DAM journey"4 and describes Ultimate as an enterprise-level DAM built around APIs.1
| Prime | Ultimate | |
|---|---|---|
| Power users included | 5 | 10 |
| Collaborator users included | 5 | 15 |
| Limited users included | 50 | 250 |
| Environments | Production only | Production, stage, development and rapid development |
| Storage included | 2 TB, extendable to 30 TB at most | 5 TB shared by production and stage, plus 200 GB per development environment. No stated maximum |

Each user type is priced differently. Power users get full access. Collaborators can't open the main AEM Assets interface and work through integrations such as Creative Cloud, and through Content Hub. Limited users can only search for and download assets in Content Hub.3
What drives Adobe DAM pricing
The base package. Every licence starts with one Prime or Ultimate base package. On the GSA list, Ultimate costs about 2.2 times as much as Prime.2
Extra users, by type. Users beyond the base package are added per user, and each type has its own price. GSA prices per user per year, smallest volume band:2
| Extra user, per year | Prime | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|
| Power user | $3,081.41 | $4,350.23 |
| Collaborator | $996.93 | $1,495.40 |
| Limited user | $244.71 | $308.14 |
Larger volumes get lower unit prices on the same list.
Overages. If you use more than you licensed, you have to buy the difference. A Collaborator who opens the main AEM Assets interface is automatically reassigned as a Power user, and you must license an extra Power user.3
Storage. Extra storage is an add-on priced per terabyte per year. Prime can't go beyond 30 TB in total, however much you buy.3
Dynamic Media. Adobe's service for transforming and delivering images and video is licensed separately and measured in operations per month.3
Brand Portal. Not included, unless you already used it with AEM Assets Enterprise.3
Implementation. Adobe publishes no timeline or cost for this. In November 2024, one Adobe Solution Partner estimated 2 to 4 months to implement Prime and 6 to 8 months for Ultimate.5 Budget for partner fees or internal time on top of the licence.
Worked example: 5 editors, 50 viewers, 2 TB
A marketing team: five people who upload and manage files, 50 colleagues and partners who only search and download, and 2 TB of assets.
AEM Assets Prime, from the US government price list2
- Users: the 5 editors take the 5 included Power users. The 50 viewers take the 50 included Limited users, as long as they only search and download in Content Hub.3
- Storage: 2 TB is exactly what the base package includes.3
- Price: $122,350.13 per year. That is $122,350.13 / 12 = about $10,196 per month.
- Not included: implementation, Dynamic Media, and growth. A sixth editor adds $3,081.41 a year. A 51st viewer adds $244.71 a year.
Filecamp Professional, from its public price list6
- Users: unlimited on every plan, so all 55 people are included.
- Plan: Professional, $89 per month, 100 GB included.
- Extra storage: the 2.5 TB add-on, $600 per month. There is no 2 TB step, and the 1 TB add-on would only take you to 1.1 TB.
- Monthly total: $89 + $600 = $689 per month, for 2.6 TB.
- Yearly total: 12 x $689 = $8,268 per year, paid month to month, with no startup costs.
On these figures, the difference is $122,350.13 - $8,268 = $114,082.13 a year. But the AEM number is a US government contract price, not a commercial quote, and the products differ: Prime includes Adobe Express, AI features such as Smart Tags, and connections to Creative Cloud and Experience Cloud.1, 3 If your team needs those, compare on that basis.
Who AEM Assets is built for
AEM Assets makes most sense for large organisations that already run Adobe Experience Cloud or Creative Cloud, deliver assets into websites and apps at scale, or need APIs and customisation. Adobe pitches Ultimate at managing complex content supply chains.4 If that describes you, Filecamp is not a like-for-like replacement.
If you mainly need a branded library where a small team manages files and many people find and download them, you may not need a six-figure platform.
