Security info

Is Filecamp reliable, secure, and confidential? Is our data safe? Where is the data hosted?

Some of the world’s largest (and smallest) companies trust us with their files and data. We take this responsibility very seriously. But to be clear, nothing is 100% secure and anyone who guarantees 100% security is making a promise they can’t keep. Banks, government offices, and corporations that spend millions on security can be compromised by highly motivated individuals.

Most of our clients host important and confidential files on our servers, and we take all reasonable precautions to keep your files and data safe!

Servers

All files are hosted on our own servers in an international server-centre, with fast redundant lines to everywhere in the World.

Servers are protected around-the-clock, with interior and exterior surveillance monitoring. Only authorized personnel have access to the data center. 24/7/365 onsite staff provides additional protection against unauthorized entry and security breaches.

Backups

We are performing daily backups of all system data. To protect against almost all disaster scenarios, our backup servers are located in another server-centre from where the main servers are located.

SSL/HTTPS

All communications between you and Filecamp is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and HTTPS protocol. This is the same functionality used by banks and other high-profile e-commerce sites for secure communication.

Password protected

Each Filecamp user has a unique username and password. All passwords are encrypted in our databases, and not even Filecamp support team have the ability to view or determine a user’s password.

When you create folders in your Filecamp account, only the users you choose are able to access these folders. Users who do not have access to a folder will not even see the folder and its content.
